Explore Palma de Mallorca during winter time and escape the cold weather.

Let me take you on a trip to Mallorca during winter time to explore what Palma has to offer.

“Did you ever travel all by yourself?”

Day 1 – Let's get lost in the city jungle.

On my first day I arrived in the afternoon. Palma is best to explore by losing your map and just start walking. When you are downtown everything is in close range. During December the weather is still fairly warm and the sun is shining. Too cold to swim in the ocean but nice enough to sit in the sun wearing your favorite T-shirt.

From the airport you can take Bus 1 into Palma for only 5 € which is a nice alternative to taking a cab. My Hostel called Brick Hotel was very cheap for 2 nights and is right downtown. (https://brickpalma.com) The interior of this hostel is very modern and it fits 2 - 6 people a room. And yes they have all female rooms as well for those of you traveling alone like me. :)

After checking in I went to Palma's big church La Seu right by the water, what a beautiful place. Sometimes they have little music festivals, markets or other activities right in front on the big plaza. When you continue exploring you can find a little garden and pond right next to the church. In the emerald green pond lives a beautiful white swan and it gives this place something magical. The fountains in the garden and the lemon trees make this place look absolutely stunning. I don't know if this is an everyday event but between afternoon and evening there is a big drumming team every night that some some great music cheering everyone up around them on the plaza and with their last finishing drum all Christmas lights turn on in the area. In the evening you should grab yourself some tapas. Bar Espanya has some great wine, tapas and the famous goat cheese salad to offer. The tapas bar is a good place to visit if you like to have a chat with the locals and eat good food for cheap money.

Day 2 – Enjoying the sun I found a cute little place called Café la Molienda, which offers Flat white, Avocado Toast, granola with greek yoghurt and fruit and many more delicious things. :) To get a good view over the city I'm exploring I went to Hotel Nakar and went up to their rooftop terrace and pool area. The view over the city is absolutely amazing! (https://nakarhotel.com/de/) During the day I got myself some gelato, went shopping on the main road and enjoyed the sun. In the evening time I went to Palma's beach which isn't the biggest eye catcher but it has a nice restaurant right on the water. While you enjoy your food and drinks you can hear the waves break and see the sunset above the ocean. What more do you really want?
